Poynton Pledge

Town Mayor, Cllr Lee Podmore, has launched the 'Poynton Pledge' - a community themed initiative encouraging people to Support Local and Think Green.

Poynton Jemmers is a social group of female dancers and male and female musicians, who perform traditional English Morris Dances at community events and festival both locally and further afield.

The team is looking for more women who would like to join them, make new friends, learn something new and get and stay fit.

No dancing experience is necessary, just a sunny disposition! Jemmers will teach you the dancing...

The team trains each Wednesdays evening - from September to July - 8.15 to 10pm at the Poynton Community Centre on Park Lane, Poynton.

Morris dancing is sociable, fun and enough exercise to improve fitness. Male partners are welcome too but they would have to join the band!
