From the Higher Poynton Summerfest, Party in the Park, Poynton Show to Civic Sunday, Remembrance Sunday, the Poynton Christmas Fest and a 10K run, there's something for everyone in Poynton over the course of the year.
Cheshire East Council Countryside Rangers run varied events throughout the year, including holiday activities clubs. Several of these are are close by or within easy travelling distance. A full list of the ranger events can be found here.
Poynton 10K and Road Closure - Sunday 17th March 2019
The race starts at 09.15 and Park Lane will be closed from the junction with London Road to the junction with Bulkeley Road from 09:00 to 11:00 or for such less time as is necessary to enable the 10K event to take place.
Access for emergency vehicles shall be maintained at all times.
Poynton Town Council’s Community Support Team and Communities Co-ordinator have been liaising with P.C. Commins from Cheshire Constabulary to provide Thinkuknow training.
This free training workshop will provide an overview of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (C.E.O.P.s), the main risks associated with online environments for children and young people and how the Thinkuknow education resources can help, etc.
The workshop is at Poynton Civic Hall - a Connected Communities Centre on the 20th March with registration at 6pm and the course starting at 6.30pm – 9.30pm.
The training is available for community leaders who work directly with young people in the Poynton Area Community Partnership area of Poynton, Adlington, Pott Shrigley, Mottram St Andrew, Kettleshulme, Disley and Prestbury.

This popular community event has always offered something for all the family. In previous years this has included a bird of prey display, pony rides, a novelty pet dog competition, the Poynton Youth Brass Band and other live bands, a Town Crier, the Adlington Morris Men, market stalls selling local produce, gifts and plants, a tombola, ferret racing, children’s attractions, a clown, and plenty more besides.
