Poynton Park and Pool

Our town's picturesque park with a pool, ancient trees and wildlife, including great crested grebes, mute swan and tufted duck, dragon and damselflies.

Poynton Heritage Garden

The garden situated between the Civic Hall, Library and Priorslegh Medical Centre was the successful transformation of what was a little used public area into a colourful and tranquil space.

New defibrillators have been installed near the Boars Head and Coppice Road phone boxes. Fundraising continues for two more. More details.

We have mobility scooters & wheelchairs hirable at a small charge. Contact the Civic Hall on 01625 872238 for a free lesson and a 'test drive'. More details.

Poynton Events

The calendar has details of events as well as dates of all the Town Council meetings and Council Surgeries.

From the Higher Poynton Summerfest, Party in the Park, Poynton Show to Civic Sunday, Remembrance Sunday, the Poynton Christmas Fest and a 10K run, there's something for everyone in Poynton over the course of the year.

Cheshire East Council Countryside Rangers run varied events throughout the year, including holiday activities clubs. Several of these are are close by or within easy travelling distance. A full list of the ranger events can be found here.


Higher Poynton Summerfest - Sunday 14th July (11.30am - 4.30pm)

The Summerfest has something for all the family and in addition to offering the usual wide range of activities, live music, food, drink, market stalls and new attractions there will be a lively samba band. There will also be a family picnic area and quiet zone. There are some previous year's photos lower down the page.


Civic Service and Reception, 21st July

The Town Mayor will be hosting this year Civic Service and Reception on Sunday 21st July. The service is at St George’s Church at 10.30am and all are welcome. This will be followed by a reception at the Civic Hall, starting at around noon and leaders of all Poynton’s local voluntary and other community organisations are invited to attend. The Mayor will present the Civic Awards and the Youth Civic Awards.

Higher Poynton Summerfest photos

This popular community event has always offered something for all the family. In previous years this has included a bird of prey display, pony rides, a novelty pet dog competition, the Poynton Youth Brass Band and other live bands, a Town Crier, the Adlington Morris Men, market stalls selling local produce, gifts and plants, a tombola, ferret racing, children’s attractions, a clown, and plenty more besides.
