Town Council website scoops Community Award

The Town Council was delighted to be announced as the winner of the Community Website Award at the Cheshire Community Pride Awards in Congleton recently. The website contains a wide variety of information from right across the community. Apart from Council news, there are sections for youth, policing, history, visitor information and much more.

The winning website is a testament to the collaboration between local community groups, the Town Council and Poynton web-designer Mike Gallagher of Primary Websites Ltd.

Deputy Clerk Richard Holland, who accepted the award on behalf of the Town Council, said,

This is tremendous news. The Town Council needs to communicate on a regular basis with its local residents, and a well-structured and user-friendly website is an essential component. We hope this award will encourage more people to visit the website and see the amount of useful and topical information it contains about events and developments of interest to our community.”

For those without regular access to a computer, the Town Council is keen to point out that print outs of its popular Poynton Update and News (PUN) e-mail are available from the Civic Hall, and can also be seen on Town Council notice boards.
