Poynton July 2017 Newsletter

 

Community News

Over the month we have had several reports of youths ‘playing’ in abandoned building around Poynton, including the old Vernon School and a building on Lostock Hall Farm. These building are not a playground and often have many hidden dangers including unsafe floors, broken glass and asbestos please explain to any young people in your family the danger of playing in such buildings.

 

Property and Vehicle Crime

Overnight 2-3rd July a burglary occurred at a property on Coppice Road. Entry was gained via damaging the rear door and a vehicle was stolen from the driveway. Incident 171 - 03/07/17.

Overnight 2-3rd July coping stones have been taken from a wall to a property on London Road North, Coping stones were also stolen from a wall to a property on Towers Road in the same time frame.

Around 3.50am on 24th July a male was seen acting suspiciously on Fulmar Close and security lights were damaged on a property. If you have any CCTV or information please call 101 quoting incident 1066 24/07/17.

Overnight 29th-30th July a wing mirror was pulled off a Toyota Aygo parked on Dickens Lane. If you have any information please contact 101 quoting 372 of 30/07/17

Overnight 28th-29th July a burglary occurred at a property on Teal Avenue. Entry was gained by smashing a rear door and 2 vehicles were stolen from the drive. If you have any information or CCTV in the area please call 101 quoting incident 263 29/07/17.

Over the month 5 vehicles have been seized for no insurance, and 1 driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

  • Crime Prevention Surgery, Waitrose, Park Lane – Saturday 19th August, 10am - 12pm.
  • Higher Poynton Surgery, The Trading Post, Lyme Road – Sunday 27th August, 10am -11am.
  • Working Together Meeting, Civic Hall, Park Lane – Thursday 31st August, 7.30pm start.
Officers will also be in attendance at Poynton Show, Saturday 26th August.
